laws constantly changing, and so many things to consider when choosing a POS for your store, it’s only natural that you have more questions.
Here I have tried to answer the most frequently asked questions by people who have to choose a Point of Sales, or who want to understand how it works.
Since when is the POS mandatory?
The POS requirement was first introduced in Italy in 2012 with the Growth Decree 2.0, but the laws regarding card payments have undergone several changes since then.
In 2021, with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the obligation for merchants to have a POS inside their store was introduced, and a double penalty for those who do not accept electronic payments.
Starting from January 1, 2023, failure to accept a payment of any korea email list amount by credit or debit card, physical or virtual, will be subject to a double administrative penalty.
The first penalty has a fixed amount of €30, the second provides for a 4% increase in the value of the rejected transaction.
How much does the POS cost?
POS systems have variable costs. Some have a fixed monthly fee, while other Point of Sales systems earn commissions on each purchase.
Don’t underestimate POS costs when choosing a system for your business, and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each before making a decision.
When is a POS mandatory?
All businesses and freelancers are required to accept electronic payments, with credit or debit cards, physical or virtual.
