Now back to the presentation community. I'm sure we all have days where we lack inspiration; with storytelling, visualization, design, whatever. Where do you go to look for inspiration, to see what's next, and to find ways to keep your presentations fresh and modern?
I usually go to all my fellow MVPs' websites, because that's how you get the latest. If I think about design, I go to my friend Julie Terberg's site. You guys from BrightCarbon are there because your brand is so strong and you have all this great advice. We have Taylor Croonquist from Nuts & Bolts Speed Training. – really fast stuff. And of course Nolan Haims, Dave Paradi, and Mike Parkinson. All of these people, and some others I haven't mentioned here, have their own little ecosystem. And that's how I find inspiration in my industry.
But if you want to get inspired, you also have to look at nature and architecture. When you're out or visiting a place, stop for a while, take a look and let your surroundings inspire you. What did nature do? What did that builder do in terms of colors and shape matching? We live in such a fast-paced world where it's so easy to forget to stop, breathe and look at what's going on around us. And that can be really helpful.
Absolutely. It's really important to remember to step back from everything and take a break. Go for a walk, look around. Who knows where you might find inspiration.
Before I wrap up, if you could go of advice when you peru country code first started in the industry, what do you think it would be?
Don't stress about everything. Just believe in yourself. I've always underestimated my abilities, "Am I worth it? Do I belong in this industry?" When we're younger, we tend to compare ourselves a lot to others. We think, "I don't belong in this group. I don't know enough. I'm not good enough." That's not true. We just don't know it at the time. And that goes for all industries. We just need to have a little more confidence that we can accomplish a lot, and that what we have to share is valuable. In 2018, we compiled a list of the best Google Slides add-ons. It's been a while, so there are a lot of new tools out there. But where to start? Well, our team has tested a whole bunch of new Google Slides add-ons, and we know you'll love having a few of them in your back pocket.
