Demographics, Statistics of the United States

Post by samiaseo222 »

1991 was a good year for Gordon Press; they added hundreds of new entries to Books in Print. In fact, Gordon Press claimed to publish over 5,000 books. All these titles were not about terrorist methods and racism. Most seemed totally irrelevant. There were endless titles on various styles of dancing. There were also books on first-aid, homeopathic medicine, AIDS, , how-to books, economic theory, and a host of apparently unrelated subjects. Some of these innocuous titles, especially the hundreds of dance books, served to camouflage the data-base, should someone examine Books in Print on disk.

But some of these "boring" titles on dancing are job function email list central to understanding what Gordon Press has been doing for decades! They served as a link to another related publisher by the name of Revisionist Press. If you were to search Books in Print by title, you would find many Gordon Press titles also being published by Revisionist Press. For example, a book using the familiar code (Cha Cha Cha (Ballroom Dance Ser.) Library Binding, Adult) was listed for both publishers with different prices and different ISBNs. The two publishers used the same code; they also used much of the same filler to pad and camouflage their data-bases. This 1991 laziness linked Gordon Press to Revisionist Press.

Author's note: the information you are now reading was accurate in the 1990's; it will be updated to the year 2001 as this chapter progresses -- so read with the understanding that this Gordon/Revisionist Press business is a dynamic real-time phenomenon and not yet past history, as of July 4, 2001.) Something odd disclosed the objective of this mysterious business: I searched for books by the author Ford, Henry. Suddenly a pattern was revealed. There were two entries credited to both Gordon Press and Revisionist Press. The first entry was almost identical for both publishers: Ford, Henry. Good Morning: After a Sleep of 25 Years.
